8th Cavalry at Marseilles, November 1914. Photograph, World War One, 1914. The British officer seated centre wears the kurta and pugri similar to those worn by the Indian officers and men. Originally raised in 1846, the 8th Cavalry were amalgamated with the 5th Cavalry in 1922 to form the 3rd Cavalry.
