Image description: Hans Martin poses on an undated recording. Martin was one of the most successful Swiss professionals before and after the Second World War. He also made a name for himself in skiing and as an aerobatic pilot. Martin won the “Zueri-Metzgete” in 1938. In the same year he reached the 7th place as a selfless helper of Paul Egli (2nd) and Leo Amberg (3rd) at the Road World Championship in Valkenburg (Ho). The multi-talented man invented the revolutionary ski boot buckle with which Roger Staub became Olympic champion in 1960. Ten years later, this ski binding developed by him was a resounding success.
