Portrait of Walther Bringolf (1895-1981), Swiss politician, taken in 1935 in the National Council Hall in Bern, Switzerland. From 1919 to 1921 and from 1935 to 1981 Bringolf was a member of the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland (SPS), from 1921 to 1930 a member of the Communist Party of Switzerland (KPS), from 1930 to 1935 a member of the Communist Party Opposition (KPO), from 1933 to 1958 City President of Schaffhausen, from 1925 to 1971 a member of the National Council and from 1953 to 1962 President of the SPS.
