Portrait of the English philosopher and author Karl Jaspers, pictured in 1969 in Basel, Switzerland. Jaspers was one of the specialists in existential philosophy and published a book about “Psychologie der Weltanschauungen” (1919). As one of the most important representatives is the term of “border situation” and their terminological base. As an opponent of marxism and psychoanalysis Jaspers engaged author and criticized the doctrine of the atomic deterrent of the world powers. Disappointed about the development of Germany Jasper's asks “Die Schultfrage” (1949), the question of fault by rejecting the thesis of the collective guilt with the argument of the political liability. From 1948 to 1961 Jaspers worked as a professor in Basel, Switzerland. Karl Jaspers died on February 26, 1969 in Basel, Switzerland.
