On 26 March 1974, the dining car of the Cerbere-Geneva-Basel-Hamburg express train of the Jura Railway crashed against the rock at the two parallel single-lane tunnels Choindez II and III, in which two German nationals and one Swiss died and 27 persons were injured. As part of the rescue and clearance work, which begins on the same day, the derailed food wagon is therefore emptied here.
