British government weapons advisor Dr David Kelly arrives to give evidence to the Commons foreign affairs select committee at the House of Commons in London, July 15, 2003. Kelly, named by the government as the possible source of the BBC report claiming Downing Street "sexed up" an Iraq dossier, spoke publicly about the row for the first time on Tuesday. Britain's Ministry of Defence says Dr Kelly briefed BBC defence correspondent Andrew Gilligan before the report which sparked a furious row between the government and the corporation, although the BBC has refused Defence Secretary Geoff Hoon's request that he confirm whether or not Dr Kelly was indeed Gilligan's source.
