Kasperletheater. Das Hauptvergnugen der Kinder auf dem Jahrmarkt war neben der exotischen Tierschau das Kasperletheater. Dies ist jene besondere Art Puppenspiel, bei dem die Puppen nicht von oben her an Drahten, sondern von unten mit der Hand bewegt werden. Die Hauptfigur ist der Kasperle, die lustige Person, die vielleicht mit dem Konig Kaspar des alten Dreikonigspieles identisch ist. Translation: Punch and Judy Show. The main amusement for children at the fair, along with the exotic animal show, was the Punch and Judy Show. This is a special kind of puppet show in which the puppets are not moved by wires from above, but by hand from below. The main character is Kasperle, the funny person who might be identical to King Kaspar from the old epiphany.
