Fechtkunst. Im 16 Jahrh erlebte die schon im Altertum bekannte Fechtkunst eine neue Blute. Die damals aufgestellten Regeln sind noch heute massgebend. In Hallen, den Fechtboden, wurde das Fechten mit Stoss- und Hiebwaffen erlernt, das nach dem Schwinden des Turnierwesens die von Adel und Studenten, doch auch besonderen Gilden, geubte Art des Zweikampfes wurde.
