MUSLIMS FROM BOMBAY TO DEFEND IRAQIS AS "HUMAN SHIELDS", 2003-03-25 (photo)

Muslim members of the Raza Academy, a Muslim social organisation, join hands to pledge their support for Iraq in Bombay March 25, 2003. The members will go as human shields to defend civilians in Iraq from the U.S.-led attack. They plan to fly from Bombay to Jordan, travel to Baghdad by road and remain in Iraq until the war ends. Around 100 human shields, including dozens from Western countries, are staying at nine possible targets around Baghdad, such as power stations, water and electricity plants, a food silo and an oil refinery in an effort to stop bombs from falling.
