The original drawing "Moon Landscape" by fourteen-year-old Auschwitz victim Petr Ginz is on display in Jerusalem at Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Martyr's and Heroes's remembrance authority February 5, 2003. A copy of the pencil drawing was requested and was taken into space by the first Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon, whose mother is an Auschwitz survivor, and whose grandfather and other family members perished in Nazi death camps. Ramon and six other astronauts died in the space shuttle Columbia disaster. The remains of Ramon have been found and will be brought to Israel for burial, the Israeli military said.
