The U.S Army 2nd battalion 70th armoured regiment went into action with soldiers from the101 st Airborne Division in the village of Kifl on the eastern bank of the Euphrates river south of the city of Hillah in an effort to destroy units of Iraq's Republican Guard on Monday.
