Image description: The decoration for Quadragesima (the first Sunday in Lent) illustrates the three temptations of Christ. In the initial Christ is shown on top of a contemporary medieval church, probably intended to represent Sherborne Abbey itself as the Temple in Jerusalem. In the lower margin the Devil tempts Christ in the wilderness. The decoration for Quinquagesima (the Sunday before Lent), shows scenes from Christ's life framed in a medieval architectural feature.The top compartment contains the mocking of Christ, while the bottom compartment shows the Resurrection.
