This chandelier is sixteen sided and comprises seven main stories. The middle one is taken up with a lon foundation inscription for the chandelier (tannur), giving a very full list of al Ghawri's titles, including the sonorous "sultan of the continents and the two seats" the latter referring to the Mediterranean and the Red Sea. The other panels are formed mostly of grilles forming twelve sided stars. the exceptions, epigraphic medallions also calling for glory to the sultan, are on the second and sixth stories, arranged symmetrically on every fourth side-copper alloy-inv.n.508-from the mosque of al Ghawri-Mamluk 909/1503-MIA-14 07 09 075
