Pattern 1827 Rifle Regiment Sword, 1915 circa. Manufactured by Hawksworth of Sheffield, this sword was issued to Second Lieutenant William Francis Eve who was commissioned in September 1915 in the 2/6th (City of London) Battalion (Rifles), The London Regiment. He had earlier served in the ranks with 1/16th (County of London) Battalion (Queen’s Westminster Rifles), The London Regiment.
