It was a project of the Government of Francisco Franco to bring industrialization into the inner Spain, because of its depopulation during the 60s. The Puertollano was the first and so far the only Spanish oil refinery located offshore. To bring the oil to the refinery, the goverment built a pipeline of 267 kilometers long which spans the provinces of Ciudad Real, Cordoba and Malaga. Photography. SPAIN. Puertollano
