A letter from Mark Twain to Mr. Ellsworth

A letter sent from Mark Twain (1835-1910) to the publisher William Ellsworth (1791-1868). Letter reads: 'My Dear Ellsworth, It is the most extraordinary explosion of advertising I have encounted in my life time. Yes, and the most ingenious of seductive and beguiling too-for it made me go and get the article and read it myself, it so influenced my curiosity to know what it was all about. When advertising can achieve that effect, it has struct the very summit it seems to me. I haven't read the rest of my works, but would like to-so, some time I will get you to advertise them, too. Please give my love to all the Century of St. Nicholas friends'. This reference is to the advertising planned for Twain's story, 'The Million-Pound Bank Note'.
