Panic tragedy (Colour Litho)

Panic tragedy. In the Shinto shrine in Iyahiko (Japan), the traditional ceremony of throwing rice buns that symbolize prosperity had just begun. The faithful had even gone wild to get hold of it, while from the outside a multitude was pushing to enter. Under the formidable pressure, the boundary wall collapsed. The cries of terror overwhelmed the voice of the bells. Panic takes over the crowd. Children and women, in the confusion, were literally trampled on.
