A landscape, with meaningless, vaguely Italian buildings in the background, and in the foreground: on the left, five remaining columns of a circular temple, with an urn-tomb, shaped vaguely like the Tomba del’Asino; on the right, a baldachin-like structure over a circular fountain; between these, a gypsy woman, with two little children clutching her dress, tells the fortune of a sportsman with his gun over his shoulder, as a third child steals the contents of his bag; a boy leaning on a stone looks on.
