Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 3rd/7th Baronet Acland of Columb-John MP (1722-1785)

A portrait of a young man, the son of Sir Hugh Acland, 6th Bt and who married Elizabeth Dyke, three-quarter-length turned to the right, gazing at spectator. He has on a grey tie-wig tied at the back with a black ribbon and wears a blue-green velvet jacket and waistcoat, plain white stock and frilled lace shirt-front and cuffs. He holds a black tricorn hat which is trimmed with gold braid, in his right hand and his left hand rests by the wrist on a ledge on the right. His gilt sword hilt can be seen hanging low from his left hip. Interior with large red drape on the left. Killerton, Devon (Accredited Museum)
