A lion, centre, has pulled a man off his white horse, on the right, and is mauling him, two oriental equestrian hunters with spears are on either side of the lion and are about to plunge their spears into him. Three more riders are following them on the road, on the right. Large boulders with shrubs and trees are on the left of the road and on the right are palm trees and other vegetation with a distant horizon in the centre with a cloudy sky.
