Theresa Cabarrus Tallien (1773-1835), princess of Caraman Chimay, French political figure, of Spanish parentage. The divorced wife of a marquis de Fontenay, she became intimate with the revolutionary Jean Lambert Tallien, whom she married (1794) and whose policies she influenced strongly. She was nicknamed Notre Dame de Thermidor in allusion to her husband's part in the coup of 9 Thermidor (1794). Her salon was famous, and she originated the neo-Greek feminine styles of the Directoire period.
