Francisco de ZurbarA¡n (baptized November 7, 1598 - August 27, 1664) was a Spanish painter. He is known primarily for his religious paintings depicting monks, nuns, and martyrs, and for his still-lifes. ZurbarA¡n gained the nickname "Spanish Caravaggio", owing to the forceful, realistic use of chiaroscuro in which he excelled. The Plaza de Espana is a plaza in the Parque de María Luisa (Maria Luisa Park), in Seville, Spain, built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. It is a landmark example of the Regionalism Architecture, mixing elements of the Renaissance Revival and Moorish Revival (Neo-Mudéjar) styles of Spanish architecture.
