The Inchon landing operations, led by U.S. General Douglas MacArthur on September 15, 1950 during the early days of the 1950-53 Korean War, was an amphibious assault of 230 ships on a west coast of Inchon. Schelling was the commanding officer of United States Ship, Swenson, which was one of the six destroyers during the Inchon Landing operations.
