A female and male Israeli police officer discuss matters on the Mount of Olives overlooking Jerusalem's walled Old City and its most dominant site, the golden Dome of the Rock, one of Islam's holiest sites, as they patrol the area a day ahead of any Millennium celebrations. Israeli police are deployed throughout Jerusalem with an additional 20,000 police on duty for New Year's eve. They are on watch for any religious zealots or doomsday cults which might try to cause violence, either to themselves or to others.
