Employees of Philippine Airlines Inc. (PAL) queue to vote at the airline office in Manila October 1. The employees have to decide whether Asia's oldest airline, grounded by debts and labour conflicts, would take to the skies again. After rejecting it last week, airline worker will once again vote on management's offer of a 20 percent equity in PAL in exchange for a 10-year freeze on labour bargainings. President Joseph Estrada said in a radio interview "My only message is for the workers to put the interest of the Filipino people above all because millions will be affected". RR/TAN/ME
