A Nicaraguan woman, wife a former banana field worker, carries her four-year-old handicapped child Lucas Roque during a march in Managua November 23. The child's birth defects, are attributed to the pesticide Nemagon. Hundreds of agricultural workers marched from the city of Chinandega, some 150 kms west of Managua, to the capital Managua to present a document before the U.S. Embassy, demanding compensation from the Standard Fruit Company for their use of the pesticide, which is believed to have caused birth defects in the families of the workers.
