TO GO WITH FEATURE STORY BC-MEDIA-TELEVISA - A cleaner polishes the floor in Televisa's climate controlled video library January 26. Televisa is in the process of transferring all 900,000 hours of their analogue video, and film archives to a digital format which end the need for large libraries to store decades of soap operas, sports events, newscasts and game shows. Televisa, the world's largest Spanish language broadcaster, is digitizing their archive both to save on warehouse space, and with a view to internet and television fusing and the viewing public eventually downloading back dated programs straight to their television sets in their homes.
