JONG CHUN-MO FROM NORTH KOREA SHARES A PRIVATE MOMENT WITH MOTHER IN SEOUL, 2000-08-16 (photo)

Jong Chun-mo, originally from north Cholla province, south of Seoul and now living in North Korea, shares a long-awaited private moment with his mother Choi Yong-ja, from Kyonggi province, at a reunion in Seoul August 16, 2000. Choi and her other children brought Jong various gifts to take back to the north consisting of a ring, watches, pens, cigarettes, ginseng tea, and honey. The Cold War division of the two Koreas melted in tears and embraces on Tuesday as families, torn asunder during the Korean War, met in the capitals of the North and the South for brief reunions.
