Germany: Berlin - Feting People on a Vehicle During the Love Parade

Young people celebrating coltish on a vehicle during the Love Parade in Berlin. The Love Parade takes place every year in Berlin and is a techno festival. The first Love Parade took place in 1989. It is one of the biggest techno festivals of the world and is visited by millions of people every year. In 2004 and 1005 the Love Parade was omitted due to the lack of sponsors. Berlin is the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany. The town is a city state and is situated at the rivers Spree river and Havel river in the east of Germany. Between 1949 and 1990 the town was devided in East Berlin and West Berlin. The eastern part belonged to the German Democratic Republic, the western part belonged to the Federal Republic of Germany. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 it came to the German Unification. Berlin has a manifold cultural life, four universities and a brisk nightlife. Because of its numerous sights the town is a popular tourist destination. (undated picture)
