South African Police Service (SAPS) forensic analyst, Jason Naidoo examines a beaker containing cocaine extracted from bottled wine (bottom left of picture) at the SAPS Forensic Science Laboratory in Pretoria 4 December 1998. Between 180 and 360 kg (400-800 lb) of cocaine, which was concealed by mixing the cocaine with wine was confiscated in Johannesburg 1 December 1998. The street value of the cocaine is estimated between 45 and 90 million rand ($8-16 million), probably making this the biggest consignment of cocaine ever confiscated in South Africa. CN/ns/
