EAGLESON SUPPORTER WITH JERSEY AT PLEA HEARING, 1998-01-06 (photo)

A supporter of former NHL hockey czar Alan Eagleson shows off a 1972 Canada Team Summit hockey jersey that he hoped to get Eagelson to sign outside the former official's plea bargain hearing at the U.S. Federal Courthouse in Boston January 6. Chris Berg of Winthrop, Massachusetts, said Eagleson's signature was the only participant's name missing from the 1972 jersey. Eagleson, who co-founded the NHL players union and ran it for many years, agreed to pay $700,000 to a players trust fund and turn himself over to Canadian authorities to serve an 18-month sentence for mail fraud.
