Diagram of celestial and terrestrial globes and armillary spheres, c 1805. Print with diagrams and figures explaining the demonstrative functions of the celestial globe, the terrestrial and the various types of armillary spheres. Titled 'Tableau Analytique de differentes positions de la sphere', this engraving was printed in Paris c 1805. Produced by Delambre, the French instrument maker, the print is an advertisement for his range astronomical demonstration instruments. Unlike many other makers at the time, these instruments were more affordable as they were made of wood with paper scales instead of brass and ivory.
