CHRISTIAN PILGRIM ITEMS ON DISPLAY IN JERUSALEM DURING HOLIDAY AND MILLENNIUM SEASON, 1999-12-20 (photo)

Various items are on display for sale on the Via Dolorosa in the Old City December 20 to lure visiting Christian pilgrims retracing the route Jesus took to his crucifixion when they visit the Holy Land during the Christmas and Millennium season. Items include a Jesus with a lamb night lamp with moving eyes when one views it from different angles, a CD-ROM (L) including religious songs and covering all the religious sites in the Holy Land and various books and pamphlets of the Via Dolorosa, the route Jesus took through the Old City streets when he was crucified. With Christmas quickly approaching and the new Millennium a week later both Israeli and Palestinian shop keepers and businessmen have been hard at work to ensure that visitors go home with happy memories and without some of their money.
