Israeli Border Police watch as palestinian high school students arrive for a demonstration September 23 against the new Jewish settlement located in the Ras al-Amoud neighborhood of Arab East Jerusalem. About 150 Palestinian students held a peaceful demonstration at the site but when they left they began throwing stones at the Israeli security forces, who responded by firing some tear gas and running after the youths. Demonstrations continue against the Jewish presence in ras al-Amoud even though the Israeli government struck a compromise with the Jewish settlers last week, allowing 10 seminary students to stay in the buildings.
