Italian coastguards said on Sunday they had rescued 858 Albanian refugees from a ship that ran aground off the port of Brindisi. Another 317 Albanians fleeing the anarchy in the Balkan state arrived during the night at the larger Italian port of Bari futher to the north on three fishing boats. Thousands of Albanians have been streaming across the Adriatic sea in a ramshackle fleet of decrepit boats since violence broke out in the country this month. ALBANIA ITALY
