Abu Ali Mustafa was accompanied by senior Palestinian officials Saeb Erekat (L), a leading Palestinian negotiator and Tayeb Abdel-Rahim (R), General Secretary of the Palestinian Presidency, both of whom met Abu Ali Mustafa when he crossed the Allenby Bridge into Israel. Abu Ali Mustafa, 61, whose real name is Mustafi Zabri, was born in the West Bank and has not been back in the area since Israeli captured it in the 1967 Six Day War. Mustafa has been at the forefront of recent efforts by Palestinian President Yasser Arafat and the Fatah faction as the PLO and israel embark on a year of accelerated talks on a permanent peace treaty.
