Image description: Copy after Dosso Dossi by Frances Mostyn Owen, Mrs Myddelton Biddulph (Woodhouse 1807 - Chirk 1887) After the original by Giovanni Luteri, known as Dosso Dossi (c. 1489-1542) which was probably the ceiling picture in the Camera del Pozzuolo (or Poggiolo) in the Castello at Ferrara for which Alfonso dEste paid Dosso in September and December 1524 and now in the National Gallery in London, via being a part of a set of panels decorating a room in the Villa Borghese, Rome, 1650 and subsequently bought, in 1828, by T.B. Bulkeley Owen, Tedsmore Hall, Shropshire and sold to Charles Fairfax Murray after Owen's death in 1868.
