Image description

Algerian terrorism in France. The Algerian Liberation Front went on the offensive with a series of attacks on the same French territory. In Marseille, Toulouse, Montpellier and other centres the terrorists blew up fuel deposits causing enormous damage. The attack that caused the most impression is the one carried out in Paris against the police garage. Getting out of a car, three men, armed with submachine guns, fired at the officers on call, seriously injuring three. Then the terrorists, reaching the entrance to the garage, threw inside some gas cans to which they had set the fire. Illustration for Courier Sunday, 7 September 1958.
