FOR RELEASE WITH STORY BC SAFRICA JOBLESS - Unemployed workers repair old tools at a workshop run by the "Men at the side of the Road" organisation in Cape Town, May 15, 2003. Once the tools are returned to a usable state they are used by some of the thousands of job seekers waiting at the informally designated roadside pick-up sites scattered across the city. Employers in passing trucks offer the chance of work and a R60 ($8) payday in the construction and farming industries for some, but for others it is a long futile wait.
