George Lucy (1714 – 1786)

possibly Charles Lucy (London 1692 - ?Rome after 1758). Oil painting on canvas, George Lucy (1714 - 1786) by Charles Lucy (London 1692 - ?Rome after 1758), 1750-58. A three-quarter-length, portrait of George Lucy, standing slightly right, wearing grey embroidered with black, white waitscoat , grey breeches, white cuffs and cravat: his right handon his hip and his left tucked in his waistcoat. Supposedly painted by his kinsman Charles Lucy. He succeeded to Charlecote on the daeth of his brother Thomas in 1744. He was High Sheriff of Warwick in 1769. He laid out the park and introduced the (black and white Spanish) Jacob sheep. The last of the direct line of male Lucys as he died unmarried ans succeeded by Reverend John Hammond.
