Entrance door and courtyard of the Al-Attarine Madrasa; it was a Muslim school built by the Marinid sultan Uthman II Abu Said; its arcaded courtyard is richly decorated with intricate geometric and vegetal patterns, while the shaft of the columns is slim and plain; the lower walls are decorated by light blue mosaics and in the centre of the room,characterized by a chequered pattern floor, there is a marble fountain. Near the entrance of Al-Attarine Madrasa; it was built by the Marinid sultan Uthman II Abu Said (1310-1331) and it takes its name from the Souk al-Attarine, the spice and perfume market.
