Representatives of the country's most important tribes are meeting to denounce the "genocide" by different rebel groups of nearly 800 Indian leaders since 1991. This congress coincides with the killing of a prominent Indian activist, Luis Angel Charrua, in the western village of Rio Sucio in Caldas Province where he was gunned down the night of November 24 by suspected members of the paramilitary United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia.
