Authorities evacuated a major subway line in Los Angeles and closed a main city street during the evening rush hour on Wednesday after passengers on a train car complained of dizziness and itching eyes and throats, police said. A Los Angeles police spokesman confirmed that all 16 Metro Red Line subway stations and trains were evacuated and that fire crews had cordoned off a nearly four-block area around the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue, near the Koreatown neighborhood.
