US SOLDIERS HAVE HAIR CUTS AFTER RETURN TO BAGRAM BASE FROM SHAHI KOT FIGHTING, 2002-03-12 (photo)

Members of the US Army 101 Airborne, PFC Benjamin McBride from Illinois (R) has his hair cut by E4 "Doc" Rairdon from Davenport, Iowa as another US Army soldier Sgt (E5) Marco Sanchez (L) from Acoma, New Mexico has his hair cut by Sgt. 1st Class Tommy Intessimone of Grandy, Missiouri while sitting outside a tent decorated with a New York Fire Department tee-shirt and an American flag on Bagram base March 12, 2002. All the soldeirs from the 101 Airborne had returned from fighting in the Shahi Kot mountains in eastern Afghanistan. Intessimone said his wife had given birth to their fourth child, a boy, while he was involved in the battle. The tee-shirt was hung up on the tent by a Capt. Neal Mayo from nashville, TE, who received a shirt from his wife before leaving the US and put it on the tent as a reminder to his soldiers why they were in Afghanistan. REUTERS/Jim Hollander JWH/AA
