Full-length portrait of a young man, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, his left ankle crossed over his right, he has shoulder-length brown curled natural hair, and is wearing a grey satin Van Dyck costume with a lace shoulder collar and a voluminous pink cloak which is gathered over his right arm, hand on hip and is draped over a rock on which he leans with his left arm, a mask dangles from the fingers of his left hand; on the right a spring gushes from the rock on which he is leaning and there is a overhanging cliff of rocks behind him on the left, a distant landscape view with cloudy sky occupies the background on the right.
