A family of ethnic Albanians sit on a tractor near the village of Bela Zemlja after leaving their homes in the southern Serbian municipality of Bujanovac, following a recent outbreak of violence, November 27, 2000. A number of ethnic Albanians fled their homes in southern Serbia fearing more violence could break out after Albanian guerillas killed at least four Serb policemen in the in the area. The Serbian security forces on Saturday set a 72-hour deadline for guerrillas to withdraw from the demilitarized area. Serbian and Western officials say the Albanian guerillas is staging the attacks in the hope of provoking a wider conflict between Serbs and ethnic Albanians.
