Creator: Grant, Duncan James Corrows (1885-1978) St Paul's Cathedral viewed from the basement of a bombed building, with another bombed church to the right, as builders work on the reconstruction, London, 1941. Duncan Grant was a British painter, designer and prominent member of the Bloomsbury Group - a collective of influential artists and intellectuals. In the Second World War he received two commissions from the War Artists Advisory Committee making him an official war artist, despite having been a Conscientious Objector in the First World War.
