Unidentified relatives mourn the death of independent election candidate Sheikh Abdul Rehman and his two nephews after an attack in Machipora, 90 kms (56 miles) north of Srinagar September 6, 2002. Suspected Muslim rebels in Indian Kashmir shot dead three people on Friday including a politician contesting state elections in the first killing of a candidate since the campaign began. Sheikh Abdul Rehman, an independent candidate for the state assembly election, a relative and his driver were killed when their vehicle was fired on near Handwara, a police official said.
