Bedrich Feuerstein

Czech architect, 1892-1936

Studied architecture at the Prague Technical University from 1911 to 1917, and was later granted a scholarship by the French government to study at the Ecole du Louvre. Feuerstein joined Devětsil in 1922, and in 1923 became part of its architecture section, Ardev. He was influenced by cubism, and was an important proponent of Czech purism. His most important work is a crematorium building in Nymburk, created from 1921-1923 with Bohumil Sláma.
