White-robed members of a doomsday cult calling itself Pana Wave Laboratory drape a roadside area with white sheets which they say protect them from electromagnetic waves in Kiyomi, central Japan May 2, 2003. Police on Wednesday raided buildings occupied by the cult, which has been likened to Aum Shinrikyo, the group responsible for a deadly gas attack on the Tokyo subway eight years ago. The search was an attempt to gauge the potential threat posed by the white-clad group, media reports said, although for now the investigation is underway on suspicion of the minor offence of registering vehicles under a false name.
